So, what does this mean? Networks based on LoRa are ideal for water and gas metering, asset tracking, homes and buildings, and for countless other applications where low power consumption, long-range and the ability to penetrate physical structures is a necessity. This unique deployment is set to have a very real impact on the way our community uses tech to manage their homes, their businesses and even how they interact with government services. When you think about it, the possibility for LoRaWAN innovation across our region is almost endless!
And this is where you come in! Can you think of a problem faced by our community that could be solved by LoRaWAN? Is your innovation unique? Is it repeatable? Is it scalable? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you may be on to a winner!
The Innovation Race details
The Innovation Race is a three-month long online tech challenge that will see our region’s best and brightest (that’s you!) come together to solve everyday issues using Smart technology.
From January to March, 8 teams will work together, under the guidance of a specially selected tech mentor, to explore the capabilities of LoRaWAN, as well as plan, design, develop and implement their own tech innovation.
You don’t have to be a tech expert to take part, the Innovation Race is for anyone who wants to make a difference. We’ve created a collaborative space for networking, sharing ideas, developing your professional skills and having fun! Plus the team with the winning idea could win up to £10,000! So whether you’re a designer, project leader, tech-hero, or marketing pro: we want to hear from you!
