Talk Money Week events encourage open discussion

A number of events aimed at helping people to have more open conversations about their money, are taking place across Suffolk from the 6 – 10 November.

Talk Money Week is an annual campaign spearheaded by the Money & Pensions Service to reduce the stigma of financial insecurity by encouraging open conversations about money.

To support the campaign, Suffolk County Council, alongside partners from District and Borough Councils and voluntary organisations, are hosting 11 drop-in events across Suffolk where people can seek advice from finance experts and find out more about support available in Suffolk.

Talk Money Week is an opportunity to start open conversations about money, which we can sometimes find difficult. These events will create safe spaces for people to discuss money and understand more about what support is available. Building money conversations into our everyday lives helps us build financial confidence and resilience to face whatever the future throws at us. Research shows that people who talk about money make better and less risky financial decisions, have stronger personal relationships, feel more in control and help their children form good lifetime money habits.
